Help! I love tea… but I'm pregnant!

*Before reading, please remember- we are just a bunch of happy tearistas, not doctors! Always double check with your family physician before consuming tea in pregnancy!*
First and foremost, let us congratulate you on this wonderful journey!
Ah, the tossing and turning, the belly kicks and let's not forget the craving for....tea?
Being a mother is an amazing experience ( I know because I love my mama soooo much!) I mean think about it...one day your going to have someone talking about you that way! #exciting
Now that you're having your little one, you may be feeling a little uneasy on whether or not it's alright to have a cup of tea. Maybe you're curious on what to avoid?
One of the biggest concerns that mama-to-be's share is caffeine.
Totally understandable... you don't want your little one to be feeling that caffeine jolt!
Let's start off by talking about our two caffeine free alternatives- rooibos and herbal teas. Yes, our caffeine- free friends are here to reassure you and ease you back into the wonders of enjoying a good cuppa. Rooibos is a great caffeine free alternative- not to mention, it is rich in iron and also contains those good nutrients like calcium, potassium and magnesium! Some herbal teas like Camomile are also great for bed time, while refreshing peppermint tea helps improve digestion and relaxes the body! Sounds pretty good right now doesn't it?

Green teas, black teas, oolongs and whites are higher in caffeine and most would recommend you avoid them for the time being. What's important to remember is, no matter what you read, you’re going to want to consult with a doctor, as everyone reacts different to caffeine and herbs.
We make our teas very easy to identify when you walk into our store!
Our teas  are colour coded with polka dot bowties , making it easy for you to spot the red bowties (Rooibos), and yellow bowties (Herbal)  and online, you can easily browse by category!
With summer well underway, and humid as can be, a nice iced tea for a growing mama and baby on a hot day will definitely feel refreshing! We suggest the fruity Night In Rio, or a cool cup of Mr. Fuzzy Peach! Both are iced caffeine-free favourites.
We know you love your tea, and if you still have questions, don't be afraid to ask!
Steering away from your favourite green and black teas may be a little challenging, but we promise the alternatives are just as delicious! And when that little one starts kicking as you sip, we know they've fallen in love with tea too !
Happy Sipping!
